I like to travel. So I take field trips. Field trips are either random, or they're minimally planned and usually include many random events. I started taking field trips when I was working in Portland. After a week of dealing with morons from Alabama who couldn't figure out their modem initialization strings, it was a welcome diversion to visit the Oregon coast, the high desert, or some other destination. This continued when I was in Arkansas. I saw a lot of the Mid-South during my field trips there. And the more people involved in a random field trip, the more strange it is. Adak, or, the end of America The Hermit Kingdom, or, the world's most isolated place The Rock, or, driving from Canada to France Great Wall, or, the most populated country in the world Deadhorse, or, a drive to the home of polar bears Sealand, or, the smallest country in the world The Pimpcave, or, requiem for a nightmare Escape From Michigan, or, radioactive McDonald's crack Sunday Drive, or, right in my back yard Phoenix Rising, or, Phoenix Festival 2002
