Me at Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. Waves crash into the coast at Cape Spear. Signs everywhere warn of freak waves and strong currents. The Atlantic Ocean and Signal Hill in the distance, as seen from near Cape Spear. The small town of Petty Harbor, about 20 miles from St. John's and definitely a world away. Supreme Court of Newfoundland. They don't have armed guards or metal detectors. George Street club district in St. John's. My Kuwaiti friend Badir would love this place. White Russians are his favorite drink. Element in St. John's is definitely not the same as Element in Seattle. Winky's Wedgies! They sell French fries.
